Der IS hat sich zu dem Anschlag auf einen Bus der tunesischen Präsidentengarde bekannt. Die Tunesier üben sich angesichts des Terrors in Trotz. Doch das Ansehen des Präsidenten leidet. Mehrere dschihadistische Webseiten verbreiteten eine entsprechende Erklärung der Terrormiliz, wonach sich sich ein „IS-Kämpfer“ in die Luft gesprengt habe. Bei dem Attentat waren am Dienstag zwölf Mitglieder der Präsidentengarde und wahrscheinlich auch der Attentäter gestorben, als die Bombe mitten im Zentrum von Tunis explodierte….

Der Besuch von US-Außenminister John Kerry in Israel und den Palästinensergebieten hat die Gewaltwelle nicht gestoppt. An einer Straßenkreuzung im südlichen Westjordanland stach ein Palästinenser am Mittwoch auf einen israelischen Soldaten ein und wurde dann selbst erschossen. Kerry warnte nach seiner Rückkehr in die USA vor einem „völligen Kontrollverlust“ im Nahost-Konflikt….

Seit den tödlichen Anschlägen vom 13. November 2015 in Paris macht der Begriff „Daesh“ für die Terrormiliz „Islamischer Staat“ die Runde. Was steckt dahinter? Und wieso passt „Daesh“ besser als IS oder ISIS? „Die Araber nennen sie Daesh“, erklärte Fabius in einer Stellungnahme nach den Anschlägen. „Ich nenne sie Daesh-Halsabschneider.“ Daesh (ausgesprochen Da-esch) – das steht im arabischen Sprachraum für “ Al-Daula al-Islamija fil-Irak wal-Scham“, was übersetzt bedeutet: „Der Islamische Staat im Irak und der Levante.“….Der Begriff ist im arabischen Raum zudem sehr negativ behaftet, da er dem Wort „Daeshi“ ähnelt – scheinheiligen Glaubenseiferern, die anderen ihre Meinung aufzwingen und durch Säen von Zwietracht der Gemeinschaft schaden….

Mein bevorzugter Zeitungshändler, der die Stimmung eines Teils meiner Nachbarschaft und dabei vor allem älterer Personen (die noch gedruckte Zeitungen kaufen, die Jüngeren Franzosen machen das kaum mehr) ziemlich gut einfängt, eröffnete mir gerade seine Wahlprognose: „Diesmal schafft es der Front National. Auch Leute, von denen ich es nicht erwartet hätte, sind bereit für Marine zu stimmen“. Marine Le Pen, die Vorsitzende des Front National (FN), galt schon vor den Pariser Terror-Anschlägen als klare Favoritin bei den bevorstehenden Regionalwahlen im Großraum „Nord/Pas de Calais/Picardie“. In dieser nördlichsten Region Frankreichs, eine historische Bastion von SP und KP, konnte der Niedergang der traditionellen Schwerindustrie bisher nur mangelhaft durch High-Tech-Firmen und Dienstleistungsbetriebe wettgemacht werden….

Der umstrittene Komiker Dieudonné ist in Belgien wegen Anstiftung zum Hass und der Leugnung des Holocaust zu zwei Monaten Gefängnis verurteilt worden. Das berichtet die Nachrichtenagentur Belga übereinstimmend mit den Anwälten der Nebenklage. Ein Lütticher Gericht verurteilte den Franzosen demnach außerdem zu einer Geldstrafe von .
